‘BIN’
ZINE LAUNCH EVENT AND EXHIBITION
17/07-05/08
Zine launch event and exhibition ‘Bin’ by Vilnius based artist and illustrator from Ireland Nathanaël Roman operating pencils under the name of Pipe&Pallet. Motivated by nature, noise making and imperfection, while perpetually swaying between surreal visual worlds, calming and chaotic.
‘Bin’ is a collection of illustrations from one of many artist’s notebooks often filled up with fleeting thoughts, memories and rough sketches. Making marks without consideration, with no intention to be shown to outside eyes. The pattern of filling and filing away would continue if not for a brief, language barrier laden, conversation with a man on a park bench in Prague.

“I was smearing orange ink into the disheveled notebook when he asked to see what I was drawing. Obliging, I tried to give some disclaimer that they were merely some throwaway sketches. As he thumbed through the pages, he spoke of his own artwork, and how he discarded each piece when it was finished, deciding they were not good enough. We laughed and misunderstood each other for a few more minutes. Having satisfied his curiosity, he handed me back the notebook and stood up, leaving me with some advice; "do not put this in the bin".” Pipe&Pallet
Exhibition will last until 05/09/2023
